A much better outing in the green can be a great starting point for Dottie Ardina in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
If yesterday wasn’t her day, it’s definitely a whole new story for Dottie Ardina in the second round of the women’s individual stroke play.
“I think I played better today. Medyo namanage ko ng maayos yung laro ko,” Ardina said in the aftermath of her much-improved performance in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The 30-year-old golfer bucked a slow start and finished strong on the back nine, with two birdies and seven pars the rest of the way to earn a par-even 72 score.
She then jumped to joint 36th in the leaderboard alongside Sarah Schober of Austria, Georgia Hall of Great Britain, Shannon Tan of Singapore, and Ana Belac of Slovenia.
Save for the double bogey in the par 3, 2nd hole, it was a rather decent performance for Ardina, who landed in joint 40th place. This was after a seesaw opening round that saw her record two birdies, four bogeys, and a double bogey for a 4-over 76.

“Today is a better day. Kahapon is totally not my day.”
Ardina, who is making her Olympic debut, looks forward to a better showing tomorrow for round three and insists that golf, like any other sport out there, is everybody’s ball game.
“I still have 36 holes left, anything can happen,” she emphasized.
“Hopefully a better score tomorrow and just play my game. I just take it hole by hole.”
Her compatriot in Bianca Pagdanganan meanwhile rose to no. six, tying with other golfers for the spot after a splendid three-under 69 showing in round 2.
